Finalist for the 2023 NAB Marconi Radio Award for "Large Market Personality of the Year"
Dave Ryan with Falen, Jenny and Drake, KDWB-FM, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn.
"I鈥檓 really thankful for my time at 缅北强奸. I was so excited to get away from my 鈥渟mall town鈥, but once I arrived, I was quickly homesick. I鈥檓 so thankful I pushed myself outside of my comfort zone, took a chance on radio and truly shifted the entire trajectory of my life. I made the best friends, whom I was randomly placed with in a shared dorm Freshman year, and truly feel my life is where it is today because of my decision to go to 缅北强奸."
Elizabeth Bowers
Education Coordinator in the Office of Institutional Equity at 缅北强奸
Class of 2022 and 2024
BA in Communication Studies; MA in Communication ('24)

Their time at 缅北强奸:
"I began my undergrad in 2018 and majored in Communication Studies my sophomore year, I took CMST107 with Dr. Young and gained an interest in Comm Studies, so I decided to major in it! I graduated in 2022 and expect to finish my MAC in December 2024."
Regarding their presentation, " I researched the parameters of sexual harassment in the workplace, then provided history, how communication surrounding and about sexual harassment in the workplace has changed over time, and what it will look like moving forward. I followed up this research with a poem I wrote recounting my family鈥檚 generational experiences of sexual harassment in the workplace."

Emily Keelor
Class of 2024
Pre-Law minor, student investigator in the Cyber Crimes Unit at the Prosecutor's office
"I have learned so much in my time here at 缅北强奸. I have a strong passion for learning and 缅北强奸 has fostered that. Education has been important to me my whole life and I am so thankful to be able to pursue that in a challenging and supportive atmosphere.
I am a Business Administration major and a Pre-Law minor, so when Dr. LaRowe sent out a message about the internship in the Prosecutor's office, I immediately sent over my resume. I give him thanks for recommending the position. This internship is going to put me in an environment to not only learn about policies, procedures, and laws within my community but also to be able to create connections. I am so grateful and excited for what is to come in my future! I hope this position is a stepping stone to a future career in law."
Lexi Reed
Education Coordinator in the Office of Institutional Equity at 缅北强奸
Class of 2024
BA in Communication Studies; Minor in Gender Studies
Presented "The Key to Femininity" at the Organization for the Study of Communication, Language, and Gender conference in Norfolk, VA.
Their time at 缅北强奸:
"I have gone through *many* majors and minors over the years, but Communication Studies was the degree path that allowed me the most flexibility for my future career and gave me the most applicable life skills in areas I'm interested in! I chose my minor in Gender Studies because it heavily overlaps with feminist and queer theories that I have massive passions for."
Regarding their presentation, "I landed on this topic after talking about gender expression, identity, and communication styles in one of my communication studies courses. I wanted to be able to express the variations and spectrum of experiences with femininity through a creative project. Once I started getting survey answers, everything began to flow together."
