As a graduate of this program, you will understand the major socio-historical contexts informing the study of American/British literature, understand the distinctions between major literary genres, develop as an emerging professional with skills and habits of mind that will help you achieve success in further study in the discipline and the diverse profession you will pursue, and you will become a multi-dimensional reader, thinker, and writer. The literature minor complements any major including those related to the fields of advertising, business, communications, education, information science, media, public service, publishing, sales and writing. Graduating with this minor will also prepare you to pursue graduate study in English, education, political science, law, government, library and information science, public administration, psychology, counseling, communications, business and religious studies.
